ASK MICHAEL
DATA DELETION

Delete Your Data

This page explains how to remove some or all of your data from the Ask Michael app without deleting your account. If you want to delete your account and everything in it, see Account & Privacy Options.

Delete a Conversation

  1. Open the app and open the conversation list
  2. Press and hold the conversation
  3. Tap Delete

The conversation is deleted permanently, together with all of its messages, attachments, starred messages and the files you uploaded to it. It cannot be restored.

Conversations inside a project: open the project, press and hold the conversation and tap Delete.

Archiving is not deleting. An archived conversation is kept in the Archive tab. To delete it, restore it first and then delete it as described above.

Delete a Project

  1. Open the Projects tab
  2. Press and hold the project
  3. Tap Delete and confirm

The project and every conversation in it are deleted permanently.

Stop Optional Data Collection

In the app under Settings → Preferences you can switch off:

  • Share usage data: stops usage analytics for your account
  • Voice playback: stops sending reply text to our voice provider

These switches stop future collection. They do not delete data already collected; use the email request below for that.

Request Deletion of Other Data

Some data cannot be removed in the app, for example a reply you reported to us or the usage metadata linked to your conversations. To have it deleted, email support@askmichaelfranzese.com with the subject "Data Deletion" from the address you registered with, and tell us which data you want removed. You can also ask us to delete all of your conversations and projects at once. We may follow up to verify your identity and will complete the request within 45 days.

What Is Kept

  • Your account and profile (email address, plan) stay until you delete your account.
  • Reported replies: when you report a reply, we keep a copy of it and of your question for review, even after you delete the conversation. They are deleted on request or with your account.
  • Usage metadata (timestamp, model, token count) is pseudonymized after 30 days, and its links to individual conversations are removed after 90 days.
  • Error reports are deleted automatically after 7 days.
  • Billing records for a web subscription are held by Stripe and kept as long as tax law requires.
  • Backups may contain deleted data for up to 30 days until they are overwritten.
